The Agricultural Mechanics and Technology Systems course prepares individuals in a general way to think critically and apply knowledge pertaining to agriculture or agribusiness technical equipment and facilities, power units, machinery, equipment, structures and utilities. Instruction is delivered in the classroom and then applied in the wood, metal, or welding construction labs. The program includes instruction in welding, small engine maintenance and repair, metal fabrication, concrete construction, building construction, plumbing, electrical wiring, maintenance of agricultural machinery, equipment and tractors. Training received in this program may be used as a basis for entry level into the labor market or for further education at a post secondary agency. Students enrolled in this agriculture course may also openly participate in all Fergus FFA events and activities.
