This course is taught as a college course and is offered for dual college credit. Students will develop comprehension of movements of trends and movements in literature as they reflect contemporary and traditional values, culture, and literary techniques. Novels and selections will be chosen based on literary merit and will represent a cross-section of differing literary time periods, philosophies, and world views.
Students will develop oral and written communication skills through an intense variety of college level writing which the students will compile in a final student portfolio. Students will also develop research skills by writing a full-length research paper with documentation. The goal is for the students to position themselves to take the A.P. English exam. Enrollment limits apply and students must maintain a B Average.
